Please Note Upcoming Changes in Client Documentation Submission

As Comfort Keepers® continues to work toward the goal of efficiency, it is vital that we eliminate time-consuming paper processes whenever possible. That’s why, beginning in March, CKFI will implement the first change in the client documentation submission process, and will no longer scan or house physical copies of client care agreements, new/updated plans of care, or any other client documents on CKFI’s secure database. Documents currently in our possession are in digital format, and will be destroyed using HIPAA compliant processes effective March 1, 2017.

The second change involves how client documents are submitted to CKFI for ClearCare users only.  If you currently use ClearCare, CKFI will be able to access your client-related documents, thus eliminating the need for you to submit client agreements, plans of care, and updated plans of care to CKFI.  Please note this change will not begin until March, so continued submission is required until March 1, 2017.

For those not on ClearCare, you will need to continue sending in your documents to CKFI via USPS, fax, or Box as you currently do, as these documents are audited to ensure your territory remains protected, and that you are in compliance with the required standards.
